It’s a New Year so that means it’s time to stop slacking off.  What should be on everyone’s New Year’s list is to get out and network more this year.

You will hear it ad nauseum: Network!  This is important for everyone in business, no matter your field.  That famous phrase “it’s not what you know, but who you know.”  It stems from a good networking regimen.

For event planners, it’s important to be apart of associations and receive accreditations that validate your skillsets.  It’s also important to learn how you can be helpful.  Go to a networking event outside of your field is always a great opportunity to be a big fish in a little pond.  See what potential clients are talking about, what they need.  Not to mention their area of work may help give you ideas for a client you already have.

So make 2015 count.  Here is are some places to get a start for Networking in Chicago for Event Planners:–chicago/networking/
