Being an event planner is a time consuming job.  There is  no clocking in and out. You have to be prepared for anything all the time.  So how do you keep a healthy lifestyle?

I’m excited to say that I’ve recently accepted a position with an international event planning company where I am starting this August.  I will also be teaching an event planning course in downtown Chicago on Saturday mornings starting in September.  I could not be more excited, but I also know that I want to start taking better care of myself. While I have always loved makeup and beauty (I’ve worked at Sephora and also done free lance makeup artistry), as I’ve gotten older I’ve come to realize the value of sleep, skin care, exercise and eating right.  While I know all of these things, the challenge is actually doing it.  I believe to make a long term difference in your life, you have to make small but meaningful changes gradually and I’ve decided that now that I’ve just turned 29, I need to be a real adult and truly challenge myself to develop a better life style routine, without having to give up everything I love like great food and wine!

I know that I’m not the only one out there who wants to be healthier with work life balance, so  I’ve decided to integrate my challenge to accomplish this into a Health & Beauty section of Chicago Planner Magazine.  I’m excited to share my discoveries, and I hope to hear from you about your ideas and what successful things you do to improve your mind and body.
