74F3D2EE-4738-4C09-AB89-7D14833906F0The Green Tie Ball is one of the most exciting Galas in Chicago.  This year’s theme is The Great Gatsby – so it doesn’t get more exciting or lavish than that!  So channel your inner Leo (or Mulligan) and put together your flashiest swag (a term that actually originated in the 20s, by the way).  The outdoor event benefits ChicagoGateway Green, an organization dedicated to greening and beautifying the region’s expressways, gateways and communities. This unique fundraising experience takes place in the parking lot at UIC at 1135 S. Union Street from 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Tickets start at $150 for pre-purchased General Admission or $175 at the door. VIP tickets are $250 ($275 at the door) and includes admittance to the VIP cocktail reception and gala. You can get your tickets at greentieball.eventbrite.com

If you want the Real Gatsby treatment, the ball will also offer a limited number of VIP Speakeasy Lounges for; $5,000 and $3,500.  The $5,000 lounge includes ten (10) VIP tickets with access into the lounge area, bottle service, advance access to the charitable gaming and silent auction, reserved VIP gift bags, additional promotional support and more.  The $3,500 lounge includes eight (8) VIP tickets with access into the lounge area, advance access to the charitable gaming and silent auction, reserved VIP gift bags and promotional support.

There will be a VIP reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. where guests arriving on the Green Carpet, adorned in their most marvelous green Gatsby attire will be greeted with a champagne toast as they make their way to the cocktail reception with premium open bars, which will serve up specialty cocktails courtesy of sponsors Tito’s Vodka, Goose Island Beer and wine from Broken Earth Wineries. VIP guests will receive a VIP gift bag while supplies last. In addition, a silent auction and Rivers Casino charitable gaming area, the ball’s exclusive gaming sponsor, will feature roulette, blackjack and craps. Winnings from the casino game will go toward tickets for the spectacular raffle.

This year’s entertainment will include Jane’s Addiction and Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell. Other local talent will join Perry as part of the night’s lineup, including DJ Rock City, DJ JRose & DJ Kane, DJ Justin Jacobson and DJ Matt Roan. ABC7’s ‘Windy City Live!’ hosts, Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini, will return to emcee.

Co-chairs of the 23rd Annual bash include SPLASH for the Sun-Times’ Editor-in-Chief Susanna Negovan and Lee Golub and Company’s Lee Golub. Golub and his cover band, Dr. Bombay, will also take the stage.

Food will be provided by more than 50 of Chicago’s top restaurants, like Sophie’s, Harry Caray’s, Nightwood, Shaw’s Crab House, Mercadito, III Forks and Cactus Bar & Grill. As always, multiple open bars with premium spirits will be offered at the party.

Just to give you an idea of how big of an event this is, last year there were over 3,500 attendees and more than $500,000 was raised.
