Employee Engagement is an important part of any business, and an area where many planners and employers alike struggle in creating new and exciting opportunities.  But the truth is that you don’t always have to complicate the process.  Sometimes the best way to get employees to interact and get creative is to simply take them out of the office.  Most people think that an off-site meeting has to be a big deal, but it’s actually a great way to change up your usual weekday meeting.  SEVENTY percent of employees do not feel engaged at work.   That’s a big deal, but it can be an easy fix.

Enter Greenhouse Loft,  which gives employees a chance to get out of their ordinary work environment and expand their minds in an innovative space.  Their number one compliment from guests is about how great it is to have so much natural light, which can be inspiring in and of itself.  Greenhouse Loft is also a sustainable space that is LEED Platinum certified, the highest rating possible, so planners can feel good about using the space.  Floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, and the reclaimed hardwood floors – originally used in a Thomas Edison gramophone factory – remind you that it’s not like an average conference room.  The space is a blank slate which allows planners the adaptability to bring their unique ideas to life.  The furniture is a mid-century modern design to give an exciting yet comfortable feel to the space.  There’s even an on-site photo studio run by owner, Steve Ewert, which is a fun addition to an event.

To make planning a meeting or event easy, they offer turnkey catering options, select supply packages, and most importantly, an on-site venue manager so it’s easy to focus on the meeting topic instead of the small details.

Greenhouse Loft works with 7 caterers, each with something special to offer and who are familiar with the space and building sustainability practices.

There are 2 parking lots available on weekdays after 6pm and weekends. The indoor lot has 50 spaces and the outdoor lot has 25.  Both are available to rent and pricing can be found here.  Valet services are not included, but clients are welcome to hire one.  Complimentary coat racks are also available.

The space can accommodate 200 guests for a seated dinner and 250 for a cocktail style reception. Guests can also enjoy access to the skygarden during their meeting or event.

Greenhouse Loft proves that employee engagement can be really easy.  A stand out event they featured was put on by LUNA, called Empowerment Through Improv.  They partnered with Second City Chicago to host about 40 women who were thought leaders in their industry and helped them get out of their comfort zone. Through various improv activities, they worked on taking a “lighter approach on life”, which is always needed!

Of course, Greenhouse Loft works with all types of events. The space can be used for weddings, birthday parties, celebrations of life, and baby showers in addition to corporate events like off-site meetings, staff retreats, company picnics, focus groups, photo shoots, brainstorming sessions and team building events.

The best businesses know the value of getting out of the office.  Greenhouse Loft has hosted companies like Google, POPSUGAR, JGS Foundation, PepsiCo. and Vital Proteins, who have experienced the benefits of changing up the scenery and improving their employee engagement.
