Some events leave a mark not because of their size or spectacle, but because of their intimacy—the way they invite you to slow down, to savor, and to be present. Secret Supper is one such experience.
Founded on the belief that good food and beautiful environments are tools for connection, Secret Supper is a roving dining experience that brings people together in unexpected places. But at its heart, it’s not about the venue, the meal, or even the branding. It’s about the moment.
“We created Secret Supper to reconnect people with what matters most,” says co-founder Danielle. “It’s about gathering, yes, but also about being intentional. There’s something magical that happens when you take people out of their routine and invite them into a thoughtfully designed space, filled with beauty, warmth, and genuine hospitality.”
This summer, the team introduced one of their most meaningful series to date: La Carte by Le Creuset, a traveling supper series inspired by the legendary cookware company’s centennial celebration. The partnership was a natural fit. Le Creuset, known worldwide for its vibrant enamel Dutch ovens and cast iron pieces, shares Secret Supper’s passion for the table as a place of memory and meaning. To commemorate Le Creuset’s 100-year milestone, the Secret Supper team drew design inspiration from the brand’s iconic Flamme Dorée colorway — a rich, fiery gold that evokes both warmth and celebration.
“Flamme Dorée isn’t just a color. It’s a mood. It’s the fire in the hearth, the center of the table, the glow of something shared,” says Danielle. “We used it as the palette for the entire series through florals, candlelight, plating, textiles. It allowed us to tell a story that felt both rooted and radiant.”
Each La Carte Supper features open fire cooking, a nod to the origins of communal dining and an aesthetic that pairs beautifully with Le Creuset’s Alpine Outdoor Collection. From wood-fired flatbreads to slow-roasted meats, the meals are bold, rustic, and layered with flavor. Plates are passed family-style, encouraging shared bites and shared conversations.
But these events don’t just materialize out of thin air.
Planning begins months in advance, often with venue scouting that feels more like location dreaming. “We’re always planning at least five or six Suppers at any given time,” Danielle explains. “While we’re wrapping one event, we’re often deep in the logistics of the next. Some Suppers take us into remote terrain. Others happen in historic buildings or tucked-away gardens. It’s all about setting a stage that feels a little bit out of the ordinary.”
That blend of storytelling and spatial curation is a hallmark of Secret Supper. Their team, though surprisingly small, manages every element in-house: from branding and guest management to menus, layouts, and experience flow. Founders Danielle and Jacob lead a core team of just four full-time employees, along with two part-time planners who assist with on-site execution and day-of logistics. Despite the event’s polished aesthetic and national presence, the team is lean by design.
“We wear a lot of hats, and we like it that way,” Danielle explained. “It means we’re close to the creative process. Every detail matters because we touch every detail.”
While the majority of the work is done internally, Secret Supper frequently collaborates with outside creatives in each city. Local florists, chefs, stylists, and musicians are often hand-selected to contribute, giving each Supper a regional heartbeat. “We’ve built relationships all over the country with some truly incredible people,” says Danielle. “Whether it’s a floral artist with roots in the area or a pastry chef who’s been waiting for a canvas like this, we love offering a space for talent to shine.”
Chefs, in particular, are central to the Secret Supper experience. Rather than following a standard menu template, the team partners with culinary artists who are ready to break the rules a bit by exploring new dishes, ingredients, and presentation formats that don’t often fit within the confines of a traditional restaurant service.
“These dinners give chefs room to play,” Jacob explains. “They get to step outside of their kitchens and into a field, a barn, a rooftop and express themselves in ways that guests can taste. It’s about the story of the food, not just the dish.”
From a business standpoint, Secret Supper is an experience-first model. These aren’t “marketing events” in the traditional sense, they are the product. That said, the team does invest in telling the story of their brand through content, partnerships, and digital design. But the clearest path to growth isn’t through impressions or reach, it’s through return guests.
“We have guests who come to four or five Suppers a year,” Danielle says. “They bring friends. They build entire trips around our schedule. That’s the highest compliment we could ever receive.”
The loyalty of these events is tangible. In fact, most Suppers sell out in advance and maintain waitlists. Each one feels like an event and an invitation. And perhaps most notably, each one is designed to feel personal, which is intentional.
Secret Supper events operate on a quiet luxury model — not flashy or overly formal, but elevated in every sense. Think mismatched ceramic dishes, custom-printed menus, hand-dyed linens, locally sourced florals, and live fire under the stars. Every element is curated for the five senses, creating an ambiance that’s felt as much as seen.
For event planners, there’s something deeply inspiring about the scale and intimacy of these events. It’s a reminder that memorable experiences don’t always require massive teams or limitless budgets. What they do require is vision, consistency, and the courage to take creative risks.
As the La Carte series continues through the summer and fall, Secret Supper plans to bring its signature sense of warmth and wonder to new cities. The venues remain a secret until just before the event, adding a touch of mystery to the experience. Guests often arrive without knowing exactly where they’ll be dining, but they come knowing it will be unforgettable.
In an age of screens, distractions, and busy schedules that type of anticipation is rare. It’s part of what makes Secret Supper so compelling.
“Our events are designed to feel like a pause button,” says Jacob. “You arrive, you breathe, and suddenly the world feels a little quieter and a little more beautiful.”
For planners, creatives, and hospitality professionals alike, Secret Supper offers not just a case study in brand experience, but a masterclass in emotional design. The La Carte series, with its layers of culinary storytelling and brand alignment, shows how a strong collaboration can elevate not just the product, but the feeling of the event.
As the final candles flicker and guests linger over dessert, it’s clear that these Suppers aren’t just meals, they’re memories. And like the best ones, they stay with you long after the plates are cleared.
